It’s midnight on a weeknight and I’m in less of a hurry to get to bed than I should be. I’m sitting at my workstation in the second bedroom lit with the diffused glow of an incandescent lamp positioned behind my computer monitor.
It’s Thanksgiving 2020. I’m chilling at my in-laws house for a few days while I’m off work. Here I spend 99% of my time on a sofa that I seem to be magnetically attracted to. That day in September was hot. After the speed-walk from the front of the park through the maze of barriers littered throughout Epcot we were covered in sweat. We were racing to the standby line where we hoped to hear news of people no-showing for their reservations. What happened next changed my perspective on life.
I had decided making stuff was worth it so I started. Then came the doubts. I was ready to walk away. Except I didn’t.
